Amazon has officially unveiled the public beta of their Amazon MP3 service. They claim to offer “Earth’s Biggest Selection of a la Carte DRM-Free MP3 Music Downloads”. Amazon will have 2 million songs from more than 180,000 artists represented by over 20,000 major and independent labels. The songs are in 256kbps MP3 format, completely without DRM. Expect to pay US$0.89 to $0.99 per song, and between $6 to $10 per album.
