Apple iPhone 1.1.1 Update released

Apple 16 GB iPod Touch

Apple has released the latest firmware update for the iPhone, version 1.1.1. Why is this significant? Well, this update brings the iTunes WiFi Store, which will allow iPhone users to purchase songs directly from their device. This feature is already available in the recently released iPod touch. Soon, iPhone and iPod touch users will also be able to purchase songs wirelessly in selected Starbucks outlets.

Say goodbye to Yahoo Podcast

Just a little over 2 years after it was first introduced, Yahoo! is closing down its Yahoo Podcast service. D-Day is Halloween 2007, 31st October. Successful podcast aggregators (and podcast companies) are not facing the runaway success that they expected. PodShow is doing OK, but PodTech is not. Other podcast networks like TWiT and Revision3 depend on a hardcore loyal following, rather than exploring new markets and new customers.
