Credit cards are a necessary evil : true or false? For the moment, let’s put the issue of debt aside, and look at credit cards as a tool. With a credit card, you don’t have to carry as much cash around — it’s safer. It’s also convenient and faster, in the case of paying for petrol (gas) with most stations having credit card readers at the pump.

It’s a good thing today that we have a lot of choice in credit cards. What do you look for when you want to compare credit cards? The typical thing to do is choose cards with the lowest interest rates. You also want cards which give you a lot of side benefits like product discounts, travel insurance, and cash back. If you have an existing credit card which you are not happy with, consider a different card that offers 0% balance transfers.
