Do you have a credit card? Credit cards are wonderful, useful tools. Once, I had four gold cards, giving me enough credit to purchase a new car. The biggest purchase I made on a credit card was in fact the down payment for a house.

Choosing credit cards can be a nightmare. Most offers are for rewards credit cards, which give you the option to get near-useless gadgets such as a free toaster after you have spent thousands of dollars. I prefer cards which give back cash, as this will reduce my card balance.

To save more money, you can opt for balance transfers from one card to another if you get a good offer — typically this is 0% for six months.
