Do you have satellite TV? I remember when the satellite TV networks first started. My cousin had a huge satellite dish (I’m talking about 10 feet or more in diameter) installed on the roof of his house. Back in the day, this sort of thing wasn’t regulated, so if you had money, you could have satellite TV at home.

So what do you watch on satellite TV? It amazes me that while there is so much choice out there, you still can’t guarantee that there will always be something interesting to watch on TV. The number of channels available is simply mind-boggling. Spend US$89.99 per month on Dish Network’s “Everything Pak”, and you get a whopping 315 channels. DISH also offers over 30 HD (high definition) channels. The cheapest package is currently DISH Family, which is quite affordable at $19.99 a month.

The DISH TV experience has grown to be more than just flipping channels. There are several upgrades you can choose to make your TV viewing more enjoyable (or more efficient, depending on what you like). For example, the DishDVR Advantage gives you the following :
- over 100 or 200 channels of the most popular programming (America’s Top 100 or America’s Top 200 packages)
- local channels
- a state-of-the-art DVR (Digital Video Recorder), which can record from two TVs
- FREE Standard Professional Installation

With DVR, you can skip ads, and never miss your favourite programs. You could virtually create your own TV channels. Imagine recording two whole months’ worth of CSI for you to enjoy back-to-back.
