Microsoft buys stake in Facebook
Are you into Facebook? The Myspace competitor has been courting suitors lately, leading to a bidding war between Microsoft and Google. Well, in the end Facebook chose Microsoft. The technology giant will invest $240 million in Facebook in return for a miniscule 1.6% stake.
Facebook, now valued at a whopping $15 billion, will soon introduce Facebook Mobile. The Facebook platform will expand to all web-enabled phones, with apps appearing on mobile Facebook profiles and providing access to SMS to communicate with users. The first native Facebook application will be made available on RIM’s Blackberry devices.
