What’s happening in the mortgage market?
Just two more months until the new year. 2007 will be remembered for a lot of things. One of them, unfortunately, is the subprime mortgage financial crisis. The crisis came after a housing market bubble that began in the aftermath of the dot com crash, all the way back in 2001.
At the height of the bubble, many people took advantage of adjustable rate mortgages to finance properties for “flipping”. Speculators would buy a house, fix it up, and then sell it off for a quick profit, all financed by banks. Unfortunately, rising interest rates meant “flippers” were unable to meet financial commitments.
If you are stuck with a property, it is highly recommend that you shop around for a reliable and reputable Mortgage Broker to sell it.
