A gaming console holiday season?

Now that Deepavali and Thanksgiving is over, we can look forward to even more year end holidays and celebrations. Yes, we have the traditional, more mainstream Christmas and New Year, but do not forget that we also have other upcoming celebrations like the Eid-ul Adha, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and even the little-known Festivus!

PS3 sales picking up, thanks to price cut

PlayStation 3 40GB Spider-Man Movie Pack

Sony’s Playstation 3 has had a hard time competing against Microsoft’s XBox 360 and the Nintendo Wii, even though it has better hardware. The problem was simply that it was priced too high. Just before the holiday season started, Sony slashed the price of the PS3 in the US from $600 to a more reasonable $500. They also introduced a new entry level version at just $400.

Aside from an apartment or a house, the biggest expenditure you will probably incur in your life would be your car. I guess owning a car is a much bigger thing in the US than anywhere else, simply because there are coast to coast highways and no tolls!

Guitar Hero 3 rocks digital song downloads

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Bundle

Have you played Guitar Hero 3 yet? It may not teach you how to play a real guitar, but it sure is a lot of fun. Apparently, it’s also good for the songs featured in the game. Ben Kuchera of Ars Technica reports that digital sales of the songs in Guitar Hero have increased dramatically.
