Synopsis
S05E17 The Story of Lucy and Jessie
When Susan tries to impress Jessie (guest star Swoosie Kurtz), a teacher at work, Jessie comes away with the wrong impression. With the wrong intent, Gaby convinces Carlos to hire Lynette, and Carlos finds himself working with an old acquaintance (guest star Lesley Boone as Lucy). As Orson’s shameful habit grows, Bree will protect herself from embarrassment at all costs, and a suspicious Edie slyly digs further into Dave’s past.
Review
The commercials overhyped this episode as “juicy” but unless you had a glass of orange juice while you were watching you didn’t experience anything juicy.
Okay, that was really lame, but this was one of the weaker episodes of Desperate Housewives this year. The entire Susan storyline felt like an attempt to recreate the Callie Torres lesbian excursion on Grey’s Anatomy, another storyline I am not too crazy about.
Gabrielle’s arc here was also pretty boring. We’ve already had her clash with other women in Carlos’ life so there was nothing too original here.
You can’t win them all I suppose, but not too much to get excited about this week.
