If you’re an old-fashioned media junkie, then you probably still read paper books. Well, it’s time to change. Our next recommendation for Christmas gifts is the Amazon Kindle.

Amazon has a new version of the Kindle ebook reader out. You can now carry your dozens (hundreds, even) of ebooks across the globe. The “Global Wireless” version of the Kindle uses the ATT network in the US, and other GSM operators elsewhere. Why use a Kindle? Well, here are 3 reasons :

- you can carry lots of books at no additional weight
- good selection of ebooks at the Amazon Kindle store, with many priced at $10
- great e-ink screen with a really long battery life (up to a week on a single charge)

The Kindle also now comes at a slightly lower price : $259.
