This is the season finale!

Synopsis:
S08E22 Doomsday
Despite the threat that Doomsday poses, Clark cannot bring himself to kill Davis forcing Oliver and his team to take matters into their own hands. Chloe finds herself caught in the conflict between Oliver and Clark, while Lois takes on Tess.

Review:
The fight between Clark and Doomsday was a little interesting. There was some similarities that actually took place in the comic. But we got to remember this is only the early encounter with Doomsday. Doomsday will breakout of its hole later on in time when Clark is Superman.

The ending was suprising seeing Jimmy Olsen being killed off. Or was he? This Jimmy Olsen wasn’t the Jimmy Olsen we all think. The real Jimmy Olsen is actually the little boy that we all saw Chloe give the camera to at the funeral. She told that little boy “Maybe one day he be able to follow in his brother’s footsteps as photographer for the Daily Planet one day.”

The Clark we saw at the end also wasn’t the Clark we know. It was the Eradicator posing as Clark. This being the fact the Eradicator will be in Season 9 of Smallville. Again a early version of him too. Also for Season 9 we have Zod mostly all throughout the season. We will get a look at Darkseid, who will be coming on to the scene. And yes a little bit more of Lex Luthor for Season 9.

S08E21 Injustice
Chloe pleads with Clark to end Davis’ life since he can no longer control the beast within him. Tess and her team of meteor freaks help Clark track down Davis

Review:
Great ep! Phenomenal to be rid of the Beauty and the Beast garbage for at least an hour. The arc regarding Tess’s involvement is captivating, and I’m still not sure who’s side she’s on. My guess is that the voice from the orb is Zod’s (also the glimpse of what may have been the Kryptonian symbol for ‘Z’ in the trailer for the finale?), which may lead-in for an excellent season ten. Would have loved to see a little more out of the ‘Injustice’ gang, and based on where the ep leads off, the finale is gonna have to be jam-packed from opening scene to credits.

Just an aside… with Lois featured on the cover of this season’s DVD cover art, shouldn’t Lois have been in more than, like, four and a half episodes??

Synopsis:
S08E20 Beast
Clark discovers the truth behind Davis’ supposed death and angrily confronts Chloe when he realizes that she has been protecting him… but it may already be too late, as Davis ambushes Jimmy and Oliver at the Talon.

Review:
This episode was very cool. Where to start. I like the little dream that Chloe had, it showed that she cared for Davis. SHe says she will do anything for him but she could just be protecting Clark,or maybe she’s doing this for both of them. jimmy is finally coming back to the good side again, thanks to Oliver who’s back, awesome. I like the idea that Clark wanted to trap Davis in the phantom zone, but everybody knows and he knows that he will have to kill or be killed. THe fight between Davis and Clark was cool but Iwish there had been more of a fight. Anyway this episode was awesome and this show keeps getting better. Can’t wait for the next episode.

Synopsis:
S08E19 Stiletto
Lois needs a big story to boost her career, but the Red-Blue Blur proves too challenging for her investigative skills. However, when she rescues Chloe from a mugger, Lois decides to take advantage of the situation and disguise herself as Metropolis’ newest hero – Stiletto. Although Clark disapproves, he soon finds himself counting on her help…

Review:
First and foremost lets get through the more serious aspects of this ep. Cloe is one step away from losing it. She has been smacked around, abandoned by her Watchtower cronies and now is an accessory to murder. Granted, the thug was about to cut her throat but she is hiding a monster in her basement. Kudos to Miss Mack…good acting.

Now for the fun..Lois made a good Superhero. Though anyone walking the streets of Metropolis might have thought she was something else. And where was the good citizens of the city? One of the largest cities in the DC universe and no one is usually around.
The scene where Clark and Lois are sitting at the desk waiting was funny. And is Clark starting to take some of Miss Lane’s thunder? She seemed a bit angry that he has been doing so well.

One thing confused me…how does Krytonite improve counterfit money? And did Jimmy steal some to use in buying whatever it is he is buying? Poor Clark…just think, those bills are floating around the city now. Who knows when one might cross his path.

Overall…great episode. They even brought back Clark’s superhearing. Been awhile it seems since we saw that.

Synopsis:
S08E18 Eternal
Tess fails in her attempt to kill Davis. In order to destroy him, Tess seeks help from Clark by unveiling Davis’ past with the Luthors. Meanwhile, Davis asks Chloe for assistance.

Review:
Wow! Excellent mythos episode worthy of a 10. Very exciting, well acted, with a brooding, almost film noir haunting air to it. What I think is amazing is that for the first time since the creation of this character, whether in comics, novels or movies, the origins of Superman are coming together as a tightly told, fascinating story.

Note once again the religious overtones and the crucial element of Davis/Doomsday being Judas the Betrayer. Just before Holy Week begins, this is way cool. Note too that Davis/Doomsday is not a counterbalancing evil force equal to Clark. I’m amazed at how close this mythos adheres to the Christian story.

Finally, I am so impressed with the Chloe storyline. Thought it was going to degenerate into, “lost jimmy,now I can have davis.’ Much more complicated now. Does she have to stay with Davis to save Clark? She’s being put into a martyr role. Way to go writers! Thoughtful episode with a solid plot. You are uniting all the seasons into a great story arc. I agree with critics who wish there was more Clark. TW needs more face time on the screen. None the less, it is easy to see how he is moving into an adult Superman role that will have depth. Not since the Dark Knight have we seen such character development in a super hero role.
