This episode, Sarah Connor discovers that a blogger understands what the three dot symbol means and must track them down. No, I’m not that blogger. Elsewhere, Riley has a clash with Cameron over her bond with John Connor.

Review

Sarah’s obsession with the 3 dots really annoyed me at one point, because it blurs the line for the show — it’s supposed to be a straightforward science fiction, not mystery show of the week. The fact that everyone is connected can also get confusing, although the writers have managed to keep most things (including timelines) somewhat coherent so far.

Review

(S02E12) One of the major differences between this television series and the movie upon which its based is that time travel in this series is more complicated than anybody in the movie universe could have imagined. That is probably one of the reasons why the show has adopted such an unusual method of telling a story as of recent.

Synopsis
Season 2, Episode 11: Self Made Man

There’s a lot of backstory in this series, which makes it interesting despite Terminators popping out of the woodwork all the time. In this episode, history is forever changed (again) as a Terminator is sent back into the wrong time. Meanwhile, bad-Terminator-turned-good Cameron’s secret life is revealed to all.

Review

Pros: The terminator story was told very well and I liked the concept of a Terminator being sent back in the wrong time. Great acting from Summer Glau, and I liked the librarian for the most part. Cons: I didn’t understand why this episode needed to be in here, especially with “Alison from Palmdale” already being told. I would have thought that we would be getting a big revelation from her Also I didn’t really understand why the terminator needed to assassinate that mayor.

Synopsis
Season 2, Episode 10: Strange Things Happen at the One Two Point

In this episode, Sarah Connor’s preoccupation with the three dots takes her to a place she believes is holding Andy Goode’s Turk. Meanwhile, Jesse’s plans have come complications and Weaver makes an important introduction.

Review

Pros: The twists in this episode kept coming. I found the twist about Jesse and Riley to be extremely gratifying especially thinking back to earlier episodes. I cannot wait to see the continuation of that story-line. The Sarah Connor story-line is interesting, and hopefully brings closure to her visions. The ex-FBI agent Ellison story-line was probably my favorite, with Ellison trying to figure out what makes the super-computer tick.

Tonight we are posed a question : why would a T-1001 ever need to visit a doctor? Sarah, John and Cameron hope to find out as they track another name from their list. Meanwhile, a(nother) woman who Derek once knew in the past surprises him by appearing in the present. Each episode, we get more Terminators and rebels popping out of the woodwork.

Review

There was an interesting framing technique used in this episode. “Sarah’s Story” gave way to “Cameron’s Story” and so on. Each one happening simultaneously and ultimately coming together to tell a very complete story. I’m a sucker for creative storytelling, so I was all on board with this experiment. In fact, they sacrificed the intro sequence for the story.
