Remember video conferencing? For over 30 years, video conferencing was “the next big thing”. It was supposed to be a credible alternative to same-location meetings and it was slated to save companies millions of dollars in travel expenses. So what happened?

The main complaint (aside from executives who no longer claim business class travel allowances) was regarding the quality of the video. In most cases, the audio was fine, but the video was so bad that the experience was nowhere near “being in the same room”.

Now, broadband bandwidth is plentiful and you could get pretty good quality on standard Video Conferencing Equipment. Companies like LifeSize lead the way with high end equipment that can deliver HD (high definition) video conferencing at 1Mbps. You can book a demo to experience it for yourself.
